These Touchdown Smokies made with a homemade Dr Pepper BBQ sauce Eckrich Sausages will be a staple this football season!

Ingredients
1cupketchup
1/2cupapple cider vinegar
1canDr Pepper
1teaspoonroasted granulated garlic
1teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonpaprika
1/2teaspoonblack pepper
1serrano peperdiced
1/4cupbrown sugar
2packagesEckrich Rope Smoked Sausages
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Prepare BBQ sauce by adding all ingredients EXCEPT smoked sausages to a saucepan. Whisk until fully combined. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally for 25-30 minutes. Let cook while preparing smoked sausages.
To prepare smoked sausages, slice ropes into bit sized pieces. Then, add to a non-stick pan and cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until a bit caramelized.
Add smoked sausages to an oven-safe, preferably, cast iron pan. Gently pour BBQ sauce over smoked sausages, careful not to fill too high.
Place BBQ covered smoked sausages in the oven and cook for about 15 minutes.
Carefully remove and serve from cast iron pan with toothpicks and a cool Dr Pepper!
