Wendy’s + Bacardi = Touchdown

Did you all know that my favorite fast food stop started in our backyard? My (and America’s) favorite quick service restaurant, Wendy’s started in the humble foodie town of Columbus, Ohio years ago by the kind soul, Dave Thomas. Fast forward a few dozen years and several spicy chicken sandwiches later and here you’ll find an elevated party menu featuring their deliciously fresh beverages … and more!

Since it’s the season for Big Games, we thought we’d host a little get together with Wendy’s as the menu. Genius, I know. They have a slew of beverage offerings that are fabulous just on their own but are really taken to the next level when you bring them home and add a little something extra. We decided to take it up a notch and grab a bottle of Bacardi Limon before stopping to pick up our food. 

 

We ordered both Lemonades and both of their amazingly refreshing FruiTea Chiller’s ® to get a wide variety of options. The awesome thing is that Bacardi Limon will work perfectly in any of these drinks! My favorite blend was the Mango Peach FruiTea Chiller’s® because it was just a tad sweet with all the goodness of Honest ® Tropical Green Tea. The Beard was more of a fan of the All-Natural Lemonade because the Bacardi just gave it that little extra kick you need for a Game Day party. I’m not actually sure why this is the first time I’ve ever used a yummy drive-thru drink as a mixer for an at home drink, it’s so smart. 

Now, Game Day Parties aren’t just about the drinks. Although, we definitely enjoyed these simple little concoctions, we couldn’t help ourselves and had to create a pairing menu too! My go-to Wendy’s order is a spicy chicken sandwich, so I was pleased to realize that it paired perfectly with my elevated Strawberry Lemonade.
