Make your weekend brunch even better with a homemade pumpkin spice latte made with a little bit of rum! You can leave out the booze for a daytime friendly latte.

The best homemade pumpkin spice latte.

I love a good PSL. Well, I actually love any delicious caffeinated beverage. Evidence here, and here.

While I love to stop at Starbucks and snatch up one of their $5 drinks, it’s a little more cost effective to make this delicious treat at home. Plus, you can add booze. I hear they frown upon that in public coffee shops.

Plus, when you make a pumpkin spice latte at home – you don’t have to leave your jammies and and can watch Netflix on repeat. Or, if you have a toddler like me, you can watch Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig on repeat.

Ingredients to make a boozy PSL.

Alright, so to make the best PSL out there – you’ll need some special ingredients and tools to get the job done. Also, some of these contain affiliate links which help fuel my caffeine addiction.

  • Coffee or Espresso. We have a Nespresso and a Keurig. I love them both for different reasons. If you want a typical latte, you’ll need to make espresso but if you are good with making a “coffee latte” then a Keurig is perfect for you.
  • Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup. I only use Torani syrups. They are my favorite and they have a zillion varieties. You can buy them online, but I usually purchase them at World Market for about $5-$7.
  • Spiced Rum! We added spiced rum that we picked up on our honeymoon (yes, almost 4 years ago) and it was the perfect addition to this this drink. You could also add bourbon if that’s more of your thing.
  • Cinnamon + Cinnamon Sticks. Our friends at Spice Islands sent us some of their awesome spices, including ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks. You can find them at most grocery stores!

Treat yourself with this drink.

I won’t lie that I go all out every single morning with my homemade lattes. I use whole milk, delicious syrups and sometimes even top with whipped cream. Because, treat yo’self.

I mean, I don’t add rum to my morning pumpkin spice latte except on special occasions. I full intend on whipping this up on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning after Santa arrives.

I highly suggest you do the same and tag us when you do so, please and thanks.

A few of our other favorite pumpkin recipes on The Beard and The Baker.

  • Pumpkin Pie Hand Pies. I’m obsessed with these. They are little magical pillows of goodness and WAY easier than making a full pumpkin pie.
  • Easy Pumpkin Fritters. Little donut holes that are covered in pumpkin pie spice and sugar? Yep. Delicious.
  • Pumpkin Hazelnut Homemade Latte. Add some booze to this latte for another delicious way to spend your weekend.
