These homemade juicy turkey burgers are easy to make and full of flavor. They are made with ground turkey and topped with a homemade creamy jalapeño slaw and sriracha mayo, both made with greek yogurt for a healthier option.

September is National Cholesterol Awareness month, and to celebrate, we whipped up delicious, better-for-you (turkey) burgers! As you probably know, we love using Mazola® Corn Oil as a better-for-you option. A clinical study showed Mazola® Corn Oil reduces cholesterol 2x more than extra virgin olive oil. To learn more about this claim, see Mazola.com.

These turkey burgers are super easy to make and are topped with a super flavorful jalapeno slaw and a schmear of sriracha “mayo.” While this recipe isn’t necessary Keto, paleo, or Whole 30, it’s healthier than a greasy beef burger and still just as tasty!

Sometimes turkey burgers can be dry or flavorless but that’s NOT the case here. They are juicy and full of amazing flavor, especially with the layer of the lightly spicy sriracha “mayo.”

What makes these turkey burgers healthy?

Now, you might be wondering how these turkey burgers are “better for you,” and I’m ready to share all those tips with you! Reminder, I’m not a health expert, so always consult your doctor for any major decisions. But, these little swaps are definitely great choices.

  1. Instead of ground beef, use ground turkey.
  2. Cook your turkey burgers in Mazola Corn Oil instead of butter.
  3. Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for the jalapeño slaw and spicy mayo.
  4. If you want to skip the gluten, you can enjoy these without a bun as an open faced sandwich.

Mazola Corn Oil is an all-purpose, cholesterol free cooking oil that is a smart heart-healthy* choice for your family. *See Mazola.com for more information on the relationship between corn oil and heart health. It has a variety of uses including baking, grilling, sautéing, stir frying, or mixing up a marinade or dressing.

What do I need to make these turkey burgers?

These homemade turkey burgers are super easy to make and just require a few ingredients.

  • Ground Turkey. You can find ground turkey typically at any grocery store. We don’t have any particular brand that we recommend, they all work great!
  • Spices. You just need salt, pepper, and paprika. Easy, peasy and delicious.
  • Mazola Corn Oil. This is for frying the turkey burgers after you make them.

How do you make these turkey burgers?

It’s incredibly simple to whip these burgers up. You mix up all the ingredients in a glass mixing bowl and then portion into four burgers.

You will need to chill them in the fridge so they can firm up. While you do that, you can make your jalapeño slaw and spicy mayo. Don’t forget about these two toppings because they bring so much flavor to the entree!

  • Healthy Tomato Soup. This tomato soup is healthier because it’s made with kefir! It still gives you that delicious tomato soup flavor we all love.
  • Easy Cobb Salad. I am obsessed with Cobb salads. This one is made with a healthier ranch dressing and packed full of protein.
