Taqueria Jalisco

Yes, I promise this post is about Taqueria Jalisco. But before we headed to this delicious taco truck, I ran a 5K with my dad. So, you can imagine that my appetite for tacos was pretty up there. Baby O always wants tacos so she was just excited to try something new.

Taqueria Jalisco’s bright red taco truck is located at 4640 Cleveland Avenue in a tiny little strip mall that you might miss if you aren’t looking for it. We may or may not have had to drive by twice because we kept missing the entrance. Whoops. I’m not totally sure of their hours but Yelp says 10am-10pm and they were open when we got there around 10:30am!

Their prices are amazing and I wanted to get one of everything. But, for our first time we stuck with a quesadilla and tacos. They also offer all the Jarritos flavors if you need a beverage while you enjoy your tacos or tortas. I think next time I’ll definitely get a burrito to see what it’s all about.

Now for the good part, the food! Like I said, I got a quesadilla with some carne asada and it was fabulous. Baby O also very much enjoyed her portion of this meal. I will say that the red salsa was super hot in my opinion. It was delicious, but really spicy. I opted for the more mild, kind of lime-y green salsa to cover my food. I also got a chicken taco because I couldn’t come to Taqueria Jalisco and NOT get a taco. Spoiler alert – it was delicious.

On the other hand, The Beard got all the tacos. He sampled each of the proteins, chicken, carnitas, carne asada, chorizo and al pastor. The Beard couldn’t pick his favorite because they were all so tasty! But, he said they were all cooked wonderfully and seasoned to perfection. All this amazing food was only $18 and was worth every penny. Do you have a favorite taco joint in Columbus? Share in the comments below!
