Our friends at Bellisari’s gave us a few spreads to enjoy and whip up some tasty recipes for you all. This one features a pretty delicious grilled crostini and the blistered jalapeno and fig spread. I mean how pretty are these? We use this wonderful cast iron grill pan from Lodge to get those lovely little marks on the bread. Also, when does bread become a crostini? I’m not really sure of the technicality of it, but these are super pretty darn delicious crostini. If we wanted to make our crostini delicious, of course, we had to handpick a marvelous salami. Of course, we chose North Country Charcuterie! You can read all about our love for this local maker here. I’m not even going to lie to you guys, I don’t eat pork but I’ve eaten several pieces of their charcuterie because it’s seriously delicious. Okay, I also ate some Iberico Ham at VASO, but whatever. While you could pick another salami, I would suggest North Country Charcuterie because they are awesome guys and their product is absolutely delicious. The real show stopper in this little appetizer is the blistered jalapeno and fig spread from Bellisari’s! For just $8.99, you’re set with a pretty big jar of this spread that will last you a while. Their motto is “gourmet convenience” and they deliver on it. While we used this spread to spice up these crostinis, you could use them for a million different dishes. They have some pretty great recipes on their website for additional inspiration! Oh, my other favorite part of this appetizer? The manchego cheese! I love this mild Spanish cheese because it’s the perfect texture for this dish. It goes perfectly with the fig spread and balances so wonderfully. Plus, it slices into great little pieces that fit ever so great on the crostini. Make sure you check out our other recipes with Bellisari’s Spreads like these deviled eggs.
